Cash – In addition to your normal checking and savings account, you should also have an emergency fund available at all times that you can dip into in case of a financial emergency.
- Emergency contacts – Have a list with your emergency contacts written out just in case something happens to your phone and you can’t access your personal contacts.
- Emergency kit – You should have an emergency kit in your home in case the power goes out or you can’t leave for one reason or another. This kit should include bottled water, a med kit, flashlight, radio, batteries and more. You should keep a kit like this in your car as well in case you become stranded on the side of the road.
