Flooding – Flooding can be caused by a number of things and can cause extensive water damage to your home. Have your plumbing inspected for leaks regularly and make sure you have a sump pump in the basement if you live in a flood-prone area.

  • Electrical fires – Electrical fires are often caused by old wiring or faulty outlets. Have any old wiring or faulty outlets replaced and make sure that you install an AFCI (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter).
  • Mold growth – Mold growth can be caused by high moisture levels. Remove mold as soon as you see it to keep it from growing. Get a dehumidifier to lower the moisture levels and seal any air leaks around the home.
